Do students in New York City’s schools get an equal education?

New York City schools do not receive an equal share of money from the New York State budget. New York City has 50% of the students in the state, but receives less than 50% of the money available. Many minority students live in New York City. Many people feel these students do not get enough resources for a quality education. They say everyone should have an equal education.

Why is education equality a civil rights issue?
